Healthy Living Newsletter - Volume 1, No. 4
Issue Date: February 24, 2004
Publisher: Mellanie True Hills, The Health & Productivity Revitalizer
This week, we focus on fats in the diet, specifically the balance between Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids.
I was consulting a friend, a clinical nutritionist, about nutrition. "Do you have a fatty-acid imbalance?" she asked.
"How do you know if you have an imbalance?" I asked. "Why is that a problem?"
She said that skin and hair can be indicators; if you have dry or scaly skin, soft or brittle nails, or unmanageable hair, you just might have a fatty-acid imbalance. Who would have thought that a fatty-acid imbalance could cause bad-hair days? A fatty-acid imbalance has been correlated with cancer, heart disease, and other issues.
